Gratitude for Growth: We Couldn’t Have Done it Without You

Food Truck Fridays – a Client Appreciation Event

By Russ Levanway, CEO

There’s nothing like the sense of accomplishment that comes with having helped a client in a truly meaningful way when there’s mutual gratitude for a job well done. We’ve come to learn that our clients see us not just as a company that fixes their computers, but as a company that enhances their productivity and thereby enriches their lives and the lives of those they serve.

But let me be clear: there have been quite a few times when clients have told us what we needed to do better. And we wouldn’t be the company we are today without that feedback.

True Grit: Get IT

By John Lim, CTO

So guess what I have been doing the last few days? Besides trying to think of ideas for a new article.

Any guesses? No? No takers? Well, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Engineers here at TekTegrity on a major disaster recovery effort. Yeah, not fun. I never want to ever experience that again.

Or do I?

Dr. Baker inside the lab at Baker Wine & Grape Analysis with Patch on floor watch duty

By Josh Erdman, IT Pro

When you imagine a lab you probably think of white lab coats, test tubes, clipboards, and beakers. In this way, Baker Wine & Grape Analysis is your typical lab, white coats and all, but there is something else going on here that feels very different from what I expect. It’s the culture – professional balanced with fun. An awesome selection of music provides a soundtrack for highly technical work; homemade sparkling lemonade is available for refreshment; a sweet Australian Shepard named Patch keeps spirits high.

Jennifer Steinkamp merges Art with Technology at Virginia Tech

By Joshua Erdman, IT Pro

I never thought I would be writing an article on the Arts.  For the last 22 years my whole world has been all about tech. From studying Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Cal Poly to running an IT business for 11 years, I had made up my mind that the arts didn’t really matter to me much.

But all of that has changed.

Real Consulting // Less IT – More Big Rig

IT Consulting

Josh at Certified Freight Logistics (CFL) with Big Rig Mentor Mike

By Josh Erdman, IT Pro

I’m sitting behind the wheel of a big rig. The odometer reads an incredible 608,000 miles. Normally when I visit CFL it is an IT Consultant checking in on their network, but not today. Today I am learning about what it takes to be a truck driver with my big rig mentor, Mike, who has been in the freight industry for over 20 years. Mike frequently talks about his boys – he has two sons and has informally adopted several more. During our time together you can quickly tell that his heart is as big as his truck!

Real Consulting // NASCAR Here I Come!

IT Consultant at SLO Jiffy Lube

Pit Crew in Training

By Josh Erdman, Senior Consultant

The bell rings twice as I pull into the Santa Maria Jiffy Lube.  Immediately I am greeted by the Courtesy Technician and whisked away into the plush waiting room.  Behind me, a team of six is at the ready to service my car with the goal of completing my oil change in 10 minutes or less.  Only this time I am not their customer, nor am I their IT Consultant – I am their temporary teammate. Mario, the franchise manager, lets the team know I am here to learn, and they are eager to teach me.

The Giant Reamer and I

By Josh Erdman, Senior Consultant

Shock and Awe

I had no idea what to expect when visiting an industrial drill bit company. I knew there would be lots of metal and welding for sure, but when I stepped into the lobby at Melfred Borzall, all my expectations went out the window.

Working with Guayaki for the last 15 years has forever changed my life. Their product and stance on environmental sustainability is admirable, but it was their lifestyle of health and wellness that opened my eyes to my own ignorance.
